Membership

The home gateway initiative is an open forum launched by Telcos in December 2004 with the aim to release specifications of the Home Gateway. It is open to any telco or manufacturer interested in this action

How to join?

Joining is easy, you have to be interested in the topic and agree with the bylaws. The HGI Statutes can be downloaded in PDF File (96k), or as a in Microsoft Word file (68k). These Statutes are complemented by the HGI Working Procedures (PDF, 511KB)

Then you have to fill the membership application form and send it to the HGI secretariat. At this step you are candidate to membership in HGI.

NOTE: From 1st October new members will benefit from a 50% reduced fee of 3500 euros for 2006.

Your membership is finalised when :

  • you have returned statutes signed by an authorised representative of your company,

  • you have paid the membership fees according to the invoice sent by secretariat :
    - for 2006, the membership fee is 7000 Euro (reduced to 3500 for new members joining the HGI the last quarter).

Some extracts of statutes concerning membership :

Any corporation and individual firm, partnership, governmental body or international organization supporting the purpose of HGI may apply for Membership.
HGI does not restrict Membership on the basis of race, colour, sex, religion or national origin and in general without any discrimination.
The Members agree to respect all legal provisions and these Statutes concerning HGI.

Members are not bound to implement or use specific technology standards, or recommendations by virtue of participation in HGI .

The Members who shall have the right to vote are called Principal Members.
The Members who shall not have a voting right are called Associated Members.
